D-I-Y VIDEO OF THE MONTH

You, too, can easily install your own Mika Floors wood floors. These quick guides can walk you through a simple installation process:

  • Glue It Together (Floating Method)

Carefully apply a pea-sized amount of glue to the tongue of each engineered wood floorboard and tap it into place. Ensure that each floorboard is securely glued together by tapping it over with a heavy object, such as a brick. Do note that you need a moisture acoustic barrier before laying down the floors.

  • Glue It Down

Lay the engineered wood floors onto a bed of adhesive. Gluing the floorboards down works particularly well over cured concrete.

  • Staple It

Rapidly secure each engineered wood floor by using a floor stapler and a compressor. This approach will allow you to secure the boards without having to wipe off any remnants of glue from your old floorboards.

  • Lock It

This particular approach is the quickest and easiest method in the bunch. Engineered wood floors that have milled tongues and grooves that lock together save you half the installation time as you don't need the aid of glue or staples anymore. All you have to do is simply fasten it and lock and you're good to go.
